Frequently Asked Questions

Can we have a phone consultation? What can I expect?

I strongly recommend we have a phone consultation before your intake or initial session. During this time, we will discuss what you are looking for, your expectations, and your concerns about the process. Additionally, we want to ensure that I am the right therapist for you.

What can I expect during the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet. I will provide a comprehensive assessment, which will take into account your personal history, present-day concerns, specific goals, and what you might be hoping for in the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll address any concerns or questions you have regarding therapy and identify a plan to move forward.

How long is an appointment?

Sessions typically range between 45 and 55 minutes.

How long will I be in therapy?

This depends on your needs and goals. Together, we can determine how long would be most helpful and beneficial to you. Additionally, your engagement in the process may determine the length of time you remain in therapy. Attending scheduled appointments, arriving on time, being an active participant in your treatment goals/plans and putting in the effort outside of sessions will result in better outcomes and attainment of your therapeutic goals.

Do you take insurance?

Changing Perspectives Counseling, LLC accepts Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance. We are out-of-network for all other providers. If you have out-of-network coverage, your plan may reimburse you a portion of your financial investment.

Can I follow you on social media?
